ADVICE:

If using a woodstain, wash down the timber being treated.

Strip the wood completely by sanding, before removing surface resin with methylated spirits or cellulose thinners. If the doors are already stained, sand to remove flaky coating and "touch-in" any bare timber to avoid patchy colour later.

New Timber

Any non-preserved timber should be first treated with two liberal coats of Sadolin Preserver, paying particular attention to end grains, allowing 24 hours drying time between coats and before overcoating with Sadolin Extra Durable Clearcoat.

Apply the stain with a good quality brush and steady hand following the direction of the grain in a full flowing manner, making sure to follow the coverage rates on the tin.

If using a two coat product, allow the first coat to dry for the appropriate time before lightly re-sanding the surface and applying the second coat.
